There are many utilities available online that claim to be helpful; many of them contain viruses or malware and do more harm than good. There are also a large number of very helpful utilities available (most are free) which we have tested and use regularly. Listed below are some of our favorite utilities.

Sdfix - A tool that removes thousands of different types of worms and Trojans.
MalwareBytes - A utility used to identify and remove malicious software from your computer.
ComboFix - A very powerful tool used to remove harmful malware from your computer.
SpeedTest - Test the speed of your Internet connection and make sure you’re getting the speed promised by your Internet Service Provider.
OpenDNS - A free service for filtering Web content to make your networks faster, more secure, and reliable. Use this service to block unwanted websites, instant messaging, Internet radio, and social networking sites.
MagicISO - A utility that can be used to create, edit, or extract from CD/DVD ISO images. It's a great way to make backup copies of your CD/DVD library. You can even mount the ISO image file and run applications directly from the image.
Norton Removal Tool - This utility removes all remnants of Symantec’s Anti-Virus products allowing you to install other Anti-Virus products.
CoolWebSearch is an aggresive browser hijacker that installs bookmarks to web pages causing fraudulent advertisements to constantly pop-up (mostly porn) and changes your homepage without asking. It is generally very difficult to detect and remove. CWShredder will remove CoolWebSearch and return control of your computer back to you.
